BackBlogBuilding an aligned value chain: Paebbl welcomes Prologis Ventures and JLL Foundation as new partners

We're excited to share that we've partnered with Prologis Ventures and JLL Foundation to accelerate bringing carbon-storing materials into the built environment at scale. The real estate industry has immense power to shape the energy and carbon efficiency agenda in the built environment. As energy and carbon efficiency become clearer commercial priorities across real estate, scaling a new generation of materials becomes part of building a more resilient and competitive supply chain.

Paebbl's Rebond series is a new category of building materials. It is designed to replace up to 30% of cement in concrete while permanently locking away CO₂ and being a drop-in ingredient in the concrete mix. Because the process avoids the high-heat step that drives much of cement's energy and carbon footprint, embodied energy and embodied carbon can come down together, rather than one at the expense of the other. Today, Rebond is already reducing the concrete-related embodied carbon footprint across a growing number of buildings and infrastructure projects in Europe.

That is why these partnerships mean a great deal to us.

Prologis is one of the world's largest owners and developers of logistics and industrial real estate, operating nearly 6,000 buildings and roughly 120 million square metres across 20 countries. When a leader at that scale takes an interest in a new category of materials, it helps the wider value chain move faster and with greater conviction.

JLL is one of the largest commercial real estate services and investment management companies in the world with operations in more than 80 countries and over 113,000 people advising clients who buy, build, occupy, manage and invest across office, industrial, retail, hotel, residential and data centre assets. Since its launch in 2022, the JLL Foundation has been instrumental to supporting decarbonisation of the built environment, advancing the circular economy, and mitigating climate change.

We've been fortunate to know Prologis for several years, including from before we had a product in commercial use. Over time, we have built a trusted relationship through open product development dialogue, rigorous technical validation and, eventually, our first pilots together, which we are excited to share more about soon.

We're also pleased to partner with JLL Foundation on this mission. Through a growing climate portfolio and active convening across startups, ecosystem partners and funders, they are helping build momentum around sustainability in real estate and the built environment. Over the past year, we have got to know the JLL Foundation team and have seen first-hand the scale of their ambition when it comes to sustainability in real estate.

We're honoured to deepen our partnership with Prologis and excited to have the support of the JLL Foundation as we work to help turn more buildings into carbon stores at scale.
