We’re excited to announce that our long time advisor Alex Patist is stepping up as fractional COO as part of our operations scale up phase. This move will help us industrialise our operations as we're moving towards 24/7 operations, storing up to 500 tonnes of CO₂ per year.

Alex Patist Ph.D is an expert in industrial process scale-up and bioprocessing, translator between cutting-edge science and real-world manufacturing, with a track record of scaling innovations across food, cosmetics, nutraceuticals, biochemicals, and climate tech.

Alex was more recently COO at leading biodesign startup Geltor, and previously SVP at materials company Bolt Threads, and with prior senior roles at Genomatica and Cargill, Alex brings over 25 years of experience in scaling innovative processes and building out manufacturing operations. He has spearheaded the development of biotech and biochemical products at industrial scale, from advanced bio-materials to sustainable chemicals, honing the know-how to optimise and expand complex processes.

As our new fractional COO, Alex will guide Paebbl in scaling and industrialising our carbon sequestration technology, ensuring that our CO₂ mineralisation process can be efficiently deployed at industrial volumes to meet global demand. His insights into process engineering and operations will help Paebbl rapidly move from successful demo results to full-scale industrial implementation.

Andreas Saari, Paebbl co-founder and co-CEO added: “We are thrilled that Alex has joined Paebbl as fractional COO. As an advisor since our early days, Alex was directly involved in scaling our technology, enabling us to meet increasing customer demand. In his new role, Alex will play a key part in shipping even more product which is central to our next phase of our growth journey”

Alex Patist added: “I am all-in on Paebbl’s mission and its urgency. Our technology and processes are proven to be highly scalable and it’s a crucial time following the successful launch of our demo plant in the spring. Taking the COO position means I can work even closer with the team and our customers, scaling manufacturing towards 24/7 operations.”
