Southern Germany

Industrial floor slab

Paebbl, Holcim, and GOLDBECK have delivered the first industrial floor slab in Germany to use carbon-storing ready-mix concrete at commercial scale. Poured in a single day at a logistics facility in Southern Germany, the 420 m² floor replaced 15% of traditional cement with Paebbl Rebond 200, cutting the concrete's embodied carbon by 13% while meeting the full C30/37 strength specification with no impact on construction schedules.

Industrial microcement

Manéo, one of France's leading optical franchisors with over 50 stores nationwide, has partnered with Australe Concrete and Paebbl to deliver the first industrial microcement incorporating carbon-storing materials. Applied across 410 m² of flooring at Manéo's new headquarters on La Réunion Island, this project proves that even renovation and interior fit-outs can permanently sequester CO₂ - turning every square metre of floor into a carbon sink.

Carbon-neutral pedestrian bridge

Heijmans, one of the Netherlands' leading construction and infrastructure companies, and Paebbl have unveiled the world's first bridge with CO₂-neutral concrete. The project partners have demonstrated that concrete structures can be built without contributing to climate change.

Carbon removal certification needs to catch up with carbon-storing scienceIn February 2026, we participated in the European Commission's CRCF (Carbon Removals and Carbon Farming) workshop on direct ocean carbon capture and storage (DOCCS) and mineral carbonation in Brussels. Alongside other stakeholders, we were invited to provide feedback on two review papers that will shape the next phase of how Europe certifies carbon removals. We submitted a detailed position paper to the Commission, and this blog post below sets out the substance of what we said - for full transparency.Read more
